IB West's 2022 Annual Eye Ball Gala

Join Independence for the Blind for our Annual Eye Ball, on March 11, 2023, at 6 pm in the ballroom at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach. Change lives by sponsoring a table or purchasing tickets to help us provide programming for our clients to reach maximum independence in their lives.

If you were told your blurred, impaired vision was not correctible and permanent, what would you do? Where would you turn? Where would you go to learn how to use a cane or walking stick, cook safely in your kitchen, organize your home, clothing and accessories, use an iPhone, iPad, computer, magnifiers, and much more? Where would you be able to connect with others dealing with similar situations? Independence for the Blind (IB).

Independence For The Blind of West Florida is the only agency in the Panhandle of Florida, from Escambia County to the Apalachicola River, that can offer and provide services to teach you everything you need to know to live independently. The Older Blind Adult Program, Vocational Rehabilitation, Teen Transition, and Children’s Programs provide needs assessments, counseling, orientation and mobility, and technology training at no cost to the client.

Each year we identify non-recurring expenses or ones affected by inflation, like the food we prepare in the kitchen during instruction, the gas we use in our vehicles, or the adaptive devices we purchase for each new client. This year we have a special opportunity to be awarded an FDOT grant to purchase five new vehicles to replace those in our aging fleet. This gala helps us cover costs like these that are unique this year, and your gifts make the difference!
